This project was an exercise in book formatting, layout, and cover design.
The Wind in the Willows is a childhood classic, and to retain the whimsical themes of the story, I used hand-drawn illustrations, later colour treated in Photoshop, and typeface that drew from the original tone of the story.

I wanted to design a book that whispers of childhood and had a vintage look and feel. The gold lining and deep blue reminds me of old cloth-covered books I would be thrilled to find in used book stores as an adolescent.
My hope is that this design speaks to the child in all of us.
This project was fully formatted in InDesign, and ready for publishing.
